From retail shops to offices, commercial buildings to private houses, LED downlights let you deliver beautiful, bright light while only using a fraction of the energy typically required for traditional lighting installations.

What are downlights?

LED downlights are products that are improved and developed on the basis of traditional downlights by applying new LED lighting sources. Downlights are one of the most common lighting fixtures will see in any modern home. Because they provide warm general lighting that's unobtrusive compared to a traditional light fixture.

How to select the perfect LED downlight?

Light fittings are important in any room and choosing the perfect LED downlight will not only give you the light you want but will also set the mood. Many people choose lamps online without being able to see the real thing, or just aren't sure what to choose. We hope the following suggestions will help you.

Downlight Power (brightness)

The lumens (brightness) corresponding to different powers are different. In choosing the appropriate power (brightness) of any LED can give people a comfortable feeling. The light efficiency of the downlights on the market is basically 85-90lm/W. It can not only meet the basic lighting needs, but also give people a comfortable living environment.

Downlight color temperature

LED downlights generally include three color temperatures:2800-3000K warm white; 4000-4500K natural white; 6000-6500K cool white. The lower the color temperature, the warmer the light, and the higher the color temperature, the colder the light.

Different color temperatures of lamps often give people different psychological feelings and visual effects. Therefore, for residential downlights, most of them is with 3000-4500K color temperature. For commercial downlight lamps, you need to choose a suitable color temperature according to different places of use.

Downlighting Gap

Downlights need to have gaps between them. This gap usually ranges between 1.5 to 2 feet. The goal is not to let the lights form a shadow. The easiest way to pick the right lighting gap is to divide your ceiling gap in half and make this space follows every downlight.

Ceiling Height

The height of your ceiling has the most impact on the downlight and its functionality. The basic rule to know is, the higher the ceiling, the farther the light source. As a general rule of thumb ceiling lights in sitting rooms, bedrooms and hallways should be hung approximately 7 feet above floor level.
